Hiking the Stanislaus National Forest

I finally got motivation to get back into hiking and exploring again since I’ve moved back to northern California. @therealpapabrown and I planned a trip to Yosemite to check out the trails and sights. So the day prior we packed our go bags and gear and set off the next morning for a 3 hour drive from the Bay Area. While on highway 120, @therealpapabrown was pissed to find out we needed a reservation to enter Yosemite. There were electronic signs everywhere saying we needed a reservation to get in, probably due to the delicious Mexican beer virus. With a little salt and lime I would add.

We stopped at the Miner’s Market gas station to shit and fill up. At this point the disappointment was high but we had already made it this far and decided to keep heading to the main gate. As we approached the main gate after driving another 35 min. on the 120, we were waiting in a line of vehicles. All of which were entering the gates at Yosemite National Park. It felt like the lines at the big mouse's land of over priced experiences. @therealpapabrown said “fuck this!” So we pulled out and turned around. As we drove back down we found a spot next to a bridge right off of the south fork of the Tuolumne River sign. I’ll leave directions at the end of this article for those interested in this neat hidden spot.
We grabbed our gear and began exploring, and what a sight it was. It was literally hiking nirvana. Not a single human soul was in sight and the river was clear as glass. We peeked into the waters to see beautiful schools of trout swimming around. I began to itch knowing I have an addictive vice to angling. If only I had my gear!
The sounds of the wild are breathtaking, for those that have not experienced the true great outdoors it’s well worth leaving the city and that confined cubical to explore this Nation's beauty. The smell and the view was amazing. Around noon is when it began to get hot, and I highly recommend you bring water to hydrate because it was fucking hot! For this hike you're going to want to wear trekking pants especially with the prickly bushes and tall grass surrounding the area. “Inspect for ticks.” Invest in some good hiking shoes as well. When exploring this terrain you're going to want to prepare for a lot of loose and wet sand, dirt, tall grass, downed trees, and running water. So expect to get dirty but it's well worth the experience.

The Stanislaus National forest which is right next to the Yosemite national forest, covering over 80,000 acres next to the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It sits between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite giving you a range of driving distance to explore its beauty. If you love photography this place is worth a visit for amazing shots. Check out our Instagram to see more awesome photos. Keep up that grind and continue the adventure! Stay wild and free.

IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE:
Upon arrival at this beautiful destination, we were angrily welcomed with an abundance of trash and filth scattered all over the ground and water. As much as this upsets me I'm not going to begin to point fingers, but if I do, then suck it. I love to party and have a good time outdoors like any other dude. If you fucking trash your area after a hard banger of a night. Then police your shit before you leave. Its fucking disgusting to see your shit scattered over beautiful land that your tax payed government officials aren't going to clean up. Some dumb animal is going to choke or get sick eating your trash. How the fuck is that fair? Beside my rant go out have a fucking blast and clean your shit after you party. And if you don’t, then maybe you can dance with a diamondback.
