Grab a seat on the shitter and pack a fat lip because here's a quick overview of the Bitchin' crews first time fly fishing. We set up a trip to Utah, where the alcohol percentage is low, and a flock of seagulls are cherished, and I don't mean the band either. The scenery was beautiful and the weather was just right.
It was a taste of pure Americana especially being from the bay area. We stayed at the Marriott's Mountainside in Park city and it was Bitchin'. Our guide for our two day excursion was Jeremy Allan (@jeremyallanflyfishing), a professional angler and photographer, having many of his shoots featured on fly fishing magazines and such. The first day was definitely a winner with absolutely no skunk for the crew. First destination, the Weber river.
Fishing the Weber on private property made the experience even sweeter. The river produced an abundance of brown trout with fights that gets your pecker hard. There was even a great fight with a chunky mountain white fish. We were also accompanied by local guide Jake Smith (@jakesmith78), helping us googans with the swing of things. Hands down the coolest guides to bullshit with and talk stories of our single brain cell adventures.
Day one came and went so the crew adventured out to Salt lake. Honestly, I'm not much for cities and Salt Lake reminded us of San Jose California. It was very hipster and trendy, but if that's your taste I'm not judging. I may have dabbled on the E-scooters drinking cold ones while blasting "Party in the USA", screaming like a school girl to attract the ladies, once or twice in my life time. But that's neither here or there.
Day two was upon us and Jeremy guided us through sections of the Provo river. Driving through the mountains and breathing the fresh air was a delight. But for fucks sakes, being out in nature just hits different when your out there in person. On this trip we where accompanied by local guide Chris Chastain (@chastainflyfishing).
Chis is a hell of a dude to fish with, as always, was great to bullshit and story tell . The Provo may have not produced as well as day one, but some of us were lucky to catch Utah rainbow trout. The browns where hitting and fighting, and the peckers where getting hard. The overall experience of Utah was amazing with Jeremy.
Check out our stories on Instagram for the Weber & Provo and definitely book a trip with Jeremy Allan for a great Utah fly fishing experience . Get off your ass and explore, life is worth experiencing! Stay wild and always stay free.
